Jackie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Chatham Kent Hospice on Tuesday December 28, 2021, at the age of 72.
Jackie leaves behind her beloved husband of 46 years, Donald Snow. They lived together in Thamesville, Ontario.
Loving mother of Serena Hudec (Snow) and Sebastian Snow, along with their respective spouses, Daryl Hudec and Christine Snow.
Jackie is the proud grandmother to Scarlet Hudec (7), Barrett Hudec (5) and Carson Snow (7). She was the kind of grandmother who put sprinkles on pancakes. She loved watching the kids run in the yard and spending time with them on the beach or snuggled on the couch. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Jackie was born in Warsaw, Poland. She is predeceased by her parents Irena and Czeslaw Kaminski, as well as her sister, Hania Kaminski, who passed at a very young age in Poland. Jackie is also survived by her loving brother, Krzysztof Kaminski and his wife, Danuta Kaminski.
Jackie worked at Chatham Kent Social Services. Although this was her place of employment, it was also where she made friends that lasted beyond retirement and for the rest of her life. Her friends remain supportive for her family; we are so grateful for each and every one of them.
Jackie will be remembered as a woman who loved without boundaries or conditions. She supported family moving from Poland to Canada, and was always attentive to anyone who “needed to talk”; her “kettle was always on the stove”. She had an immense love for her gardens, flowers, and the birds and animals that lived amongst them. The stray cats, baby foxes, raccoons, and possums that she fed on her back porch will miss her dearly.
A private cremation has taken place at Jackie and Don’s request. In lieu of funeral services and to honour Jackie’s love of her family and friends, a Memorial Celebration will be held in the Summer of 2022.
If you would like to make a donation in Jackie’s name, please consider the Chatham Kent Hospice, who we are so grateful for. Please also consider Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
“In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one else will fill.” -unknown
