Picture
Jackie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Chatham Kent Hospice on Tuesday December 28, 2021, at the age of 72.

Jackie leaves behind her beloved husband of 46 years, Donald Snow.  They lived together in Thamesville, Ontario.

Loving mother of Serena Hudec (Snow) and Sebastian Snow, along with their respective spouses, Daryl Hudec and Christine Snow.

Jackie is the proud grandmother to Scarlet Hudec (7), Barrett Hudec (5) and Carson Snow (7).  She was the kind of grandmother who put sprinkles on pancakes.  She loved watching the kids run in the yard and spending time with them on the beach or snuggled on the couch.  Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

Jackie was born in Warsaw, Poland.  She is predeceased by her parents Irena and Czeslaw Kaminski, as well as her sister, Hania Kaminski, who passed at a very young age in Poland.  Jackie is also survived by her loving brother, Krzysztof Kaminski and his wife, Danuta Kaminski.

Jackie worked at Chatham Kent Social Services.  Although this was her place of employment, it was also where she made friends that lasted beyond retirement and for the rest of her life.  Her friends remain supportive for her family; we are so grateful for each and every one of them.

Jackie will be remembered as a woman who loved without boundaries or conditions.  She supported family moving from Poland to Canada, and was always attentive to anyone who “needed to talk”; her “kettle was always on the stove”.  She had an immense love for her gardens, flowers, and the birds and animals that lived amongst them.  The stray cats, baby foxes, raccoons, and possums that she fed on her back porch will miss her dearly.

A private cremation has taken place at Jackie and Don’s request.  In lieu of funeral services and to honour Jackie’s love of her family and friends, a Memorial Celebration will be held in the Summer of 2022.

If you would like to make a donation in Jackie’s name, please consider the Chatham Kent Hospice, who we are so grateful for.  Please also consider Pancreatic Cancer Canada.

“In life we loved you dearly.  In death we love you still.  In our hearts you hold a place that no one else will fill.” -unknown

Jackie was always a tender voice at our family meetings. She cared about every family member with all her heart and made sure that no matter how long it had been between get togethers that you knew how important you were to her. We loved you dearly Jackie and will miss your bright smile. Our hearts go out to Donny and your dear family. Ron, Ruth and the Kellys

Serena and Sebastian and families, and Don,

My heart breaks for you all on the loss of an amazing woman - Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Friend, caregiver and like a second mother to the friends of her children. Jackie was always so supportive and caring for everyone she loved and even to those she barely knew. She would take you in as your own and treat you like gold. I know this firsthand as there were many weekends spent in Thamesville as her second daughter in Serena and I’s younger years. Jackie would give you the shirt off of her back with no questions asked and she loved so deeply. The glimmer in her eye when she looked at her kids and grandkids with pride was evident and she always had a warm smile and gentle hug when you greeted you and said goodbye.

Momma Jackie - Your love, caring nature, sincerity and ability to make life better for those around you will live on in your children and grandchildren and all of us who were blessed to be loved by you. I will miss you greatly, Momma Jackie but I will take good care of your girl. I am so grateful that she is just like her Momma and your loving traits are witnessed every day in her actions. Your memory will always live on in all the amazing things she does to honour you and all you taught her. 💜 Until we meet again, fly with the angels and watch over us all. We will watch for signs from you!
Love, Jessie (I will miss being called that as you were one of two people in my life who called me by that nickname!) 😉
