Wayne was, Mr. "still waters run deep" as he was dubbed who was always in the background, but coming forward with a force when needed. He will be remembered as a tough, kind guy. Wayne had a sharp mind and a keen interest to learn which continued until the end of his life.
Wayne was raised in Chinatown, where he met many lifelong friends. And those boys have lots of stories! Wayne agreed to disclose his life story anonymously to the Department of History when approached by Simon Fraser University for a paper, "Bachelors and China Dolls." Those interviewed were a union of mixed race. This was a valuable contribution to this history project.
Wayne was an employee of Goodwill Industries for 39 years, a job he loved and where he met his wife Paula and many close friends.
Wayne was self-taught with many passions including his "Audi," fishing, boating, target and skeet shooting, pool, reading, gaming, music including classical, Van Morrison, Taylor Swift and Willie Nelson among his favorites, with more serious work conducted in his garage/man cave.
Wayne contributed greatly to an overflowing basket of memories from the family house on Halbadier, the cottage on Black Lake and the farm in Bobcaygeon - his favorite home.
"He will be forever loved and remembered."
