Jacqueline Marion Dougall (nee Stanley)

Jacqueline Marion Dougall (nee Stanley), 82, of Oakville, Ontario passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 at Billings Court Manor in Burlington, Ontario.

Jackie, as she was known to her friends and family, was born on December 10th, 1940, to Dorothy and Alfred Stanley and was one of ten children. She married her true love, Stuart Dougall, on October 6, 1961 and they welcomed three children.  They lived in San Fernando, Trinidad until moving to Kingston, Jamaica where Stuart worked for Barclays Bank.  In 1975, the family moved to Canada to join members of their extended family, gaining their citizenship in 1981.

Jackie worked at the Bank of Montreal in the Mississauga and Oakville area, retiring in 1997. She was incredibly proud of her children as they graduated from university, bought homes and raised families of their own. She loved nothing more than being "Granny Dougall" to her seven grandchildren, willingly helping with babysitting, carpooling and cheering along the sidelines at many sporting events.  She was a wonderful partner to Stuart, taking incredible care of him for many years as he faced early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.  Always sporting a beautiful smile, she will be greatly missed for her exuberant zest for life, kindness, generosity, love of Caribbean dance and her delicious West Indian cooking - nobody made a better macaroni pie or stewed chicken with rice and peas.

Jackie is now reunited with her loving husband Stuart, who passed away on November 5, 2022. She is survived by her son Stephen Dougall and his wife Terri and their children Heather (Andrew), Michael (Michelle) and Laura; her daughter Ann Marie Brown and her children Amanda (Dakari) and Victoria and her son Robert Dougall, his wife Brenda and their children Caitlin and Jessica.  Jackie also leaves behind her beloved little dog, Riley.  She will also be missed by her brothers, sisters and their extended families, who were such a big part of her and Stuart's life.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Village of Tansley Woods, who cared for Jackie and Stuart for many years, the kind and caring staff at Billings Court Manor, where they resided for the last few months, and Dr. Ragonetti who oversaw their care at both facilities.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Society or Acclaim Health
